William Saunders, CFP®

William has been in the financial services industry for over 20 years and joined Equity Concepts in early 2003 to lead the company’s efforts in building its Wealth Management Team. 

As Director of Wealth Management and the Registered Principal, William focuses on transferring to the team the lessons learned from his history of success in Relationship Management, Financial Planning, and Operations Management. 

William received his B.S. in Business Management from Ferris State University. He currently holds the following Financial Regulatory Authority (FINRA) licenses: Series 99, 24, 7, 65, 63, and 6, as well as Life, Health Insurance and Variable Annuities.

William is also a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professional. The designation comes with extensive training in financial planning, estate planning, insurance, investments, taxes, employee benefits and retirement planning, as well as in CFP Board’s Standards of Professional Conduct, which are rigorously enforced.  The CFP® certification is the most recognized in the industry for personal financial planning. So as you think about your financial future, please bear in mind that only 21 percent of all financial advisors in the industry can claim this distinction, according to a 2015 survey by Cerulli Associates, Inc.  The ethical standards of CFP® professionals are Integrity, Objectivity, Competence, Fairness, Confidentiality, Professionalism, Diligence

William is very involved in the Rotary Club of Innsbrook.  He has held a variety of executive board positions at the club.  He currently runs the speaker committee. 

In 2015 William received the club’s highest award as a member and was voted Rotarian of the Year.

William is also an avid golfer and his passions for golf sparked him to start a neighborhood golf league about 6 years ago.  Since then the golf league has grown to over 500 members and is now an official Virginia State Golf Association E-Club.  Due to the growth of the league, the league rebranded in 2017 and is now called RVA9 Golf League.  William is also a VSGA committee member for Growing the Game. 

William is married to his wife Amber, and they have two boys, David and Max.  The Saunders attend Hope Church where both William and Amber volunteer in the children’s ministries.
