John Hopper

As a Wealth Manager at Equity Concepts, John is an advocate for each client’s financial well-being by offering transparency, stewardship and leading-edge collaborative strategies.  John believes the financial world has become complex to the point where no one advisor can properly serve all of a client’s needs.  With over 20 years of experience working with high net worth clients, John leads a team of experts who serve as a client’s personal family office. John is passionate about partnering with his clients to meet their personal financial goals.

Prior to joining Equity Concepts, John spent 25 years in banking mostly with Wells Fargo and its predecessors.  His last role in banking was Market Executive and Private Banking Manager for First Tennessee Bank in the Richmond market.  John is an Economics and History graduate of Hampden-Sydney College where he is also the immediate past-president of the college’s national Alumni Association.

John has served on numerous non-profit boards and currently serves on the board of the Virginia Small Business Finance Authority as well as the Hampden-Sydney Alumni Board.  John is married to Laura Vranian Hopper, and they have three children ages 19,16 and 12.  When not working, John is mostly at a sports venue either coaching or cheering for his kid’s sports teams.
